Dart RNLI was contacted by Solent coastguard to assist two yachtsmen on board a 37 foot yacht with engine failure due to contaminated fuel.
The yacht was on route to Salcombe and then onwards to France.
The crew asked the yachtsmen to sail the boat to the entrance of the Dart, which they did. There, they were given an alongside tow to the Darthaven Marina.
On the crews’ return to Dartmouth, they were tasked to go to the aid of a fishing boat that had lost power and was drifting towards Combe Rock.
When lifeboat reached the fishing boat, a tow line was attached. The lifeboat towed the vessel back safely to Dartmouth.
There were no injuries in either incident.
