A CYCLIST has died after a collision with a car near Blackpool Sands yesterday.

The cyclist, a 63-year-old man from the Plymouth area, was taken to Derriford Hospital where he died of his injuries.

The accident happened on the A379 near Stoke Fleming just before midday.

The car, a silver Hyundai, was driven by a local woman. She was uninjured.

Officers from the Serious Collisions Investigation Team at Plymouth have begun an investigation and are appealing for any witnesses that may have seen a cyclist travelling from Stoke Fleming towards Blackpool Sands.
