Coastguard and RNLI teams were called to assist with the transfer of a casualty into the care of an ambulance crew over the weekend.

While on patrol with Prawle Point Coastguard, the Dartmouth Coastguard were paged to assist Dart RNLI with the transfer of a casualty.

A distress call was made from a motor boat near the mew stone and Dart RNLI went to the scene to assess the casualty.

After assessment and being transferred to the ambulance team waiting by the Dartmouth pontoon, the casualty was deemed fit and well to return to their boat.

The Dartmouth coastguard posted on Facebook: “In any maritime emergency having more hands to help is always beneficial which is why we are happy to help with any thing from casualty care of major trauma to simply helping walking wounded casualties disembark from the lifeboat to the shore.”
