What started out as a cold winter's day, with the greens on the lower part of the course on the front nine still frozen and of course still very wet underfoot, turned out to be a nice sunny morning for a good turnout of 36 seniors.

They were playing in the first qualifier of 2014, and taking advantage of the conditions with a good score of 41pts to take first place was Tony Andrews.

In second was Colin Cooper with 38pts, third Ron Cooper with 37pts and fourth David Rowsell with 36pts on countback from Mike Shalders.

There was only one member this week who scooped all the twos money and he didn't even have to putt out to score as his tee shot hit the road in front of the 18th green, ran across the green and straight into the cup for a hole-in-one.

As you can imagine, he was chuffed to bits, well done Ron.
