Dawlish 2

Dartmouth attacked this league game with vigour and threw everything at Dawlish in the first 15 minutes of play.

Fast passing and movement created plenty of attacking options through Sam Webb, Hannah Pillar and Lucy Pillar, allowing Alix Vincent to snap up a loose ball to open the scoring.

Dawlish countered well and quickly, looking dangerous at times with skilful solo runs, but a solid defence held well during the first half.

The second half started well for Dartmouth and consistent attacks down the right-hand side, orchestrated by player-of-the-match Jamie Rendle, pressured the Dawlish defence.

One such attack ended when, with the goalie committed, Hannah Pillar calmly lifted a delightful shot into the top of the net to double Dartmouth's advantage.

Again Dawlish pressed hard, but an interception by Siobhan Edwards led to the goal of the match as she drove up field and passed to Sam Webb, who gained further ground before she returned the ball to Edwards.

Edwards quickly slipped it forward into the path of Lucy Pillar to unleash a rocket of a drive high into the goal.

Dartmouth looked firmly in control, however Dawlish hit back quickly and pressed Dartmouth further with a second to take the game into a tense finish as Dawlish created a short corner, but the home defence held strong.

A very entertaining game for all to watch which leaves Dartmouth looking more comfortable in the league.
