Honours were even in the Division Five top of the table clash and all concerned would agree it was a fair result.

It was a game of few real chances and in the end two headers, both from corners, proved to be the only goals.

The first half was a fast-paced, end-to-end affair, but neither team managed to carve out any real openings with most shots being hit from range or blocked.

Into the second half and it was anyone's game. Dittisham began the brighter and controlled large spells of possession but never really threatened, while Salcombe were looking to score on the counter.

Salcombe then took control of the game and dominated proceedings, and despite having numerous set pieces to attack the Dittisham goal, couldnt find a breakthrough.

In the 70th minute and perhaps against the run of play at this point, Dittisham won a corner after a decent save. The resulting corner was headed home from six yards out.

Salcombe kept their heads up and went in search of an equaliser but were finding it difficult to break down a tight Ditts defence.

Dittisham were also looking for their second and may have had the opportunity but two possible penalty claims were waved away by the referee.

With 10 minutes to play Salcombe were back on top and got their deserved reward when George Hobday headed in from another corner.

At 1-1 Salcombe pressed for the winner and nearly got it in the last minute, but a Luke Milton header crashed off the crossbar.

It was, however, a game neither team deserved to lose so a point a piece was a just result.
