Stoke Fleming faced South Hams rivals Malborough still looking for their first win of the season.

Fleming once again started slowly, allowing Malborough time and space on the ball.

Boro made the breakthrough after good work by the Boro forward, who squared the ball for his strike partner to finish from fouryards out.

Not learning from this, Fleming continued to allow Boro the ball and it could have been even worse when the same forward raced into the box to fire across the 'keeper into the back of the net, but thankfully for Fleming he was given offside.

Malborough had yet another chance when their midfielder broke clear of the Stoke defence, but his shot went just wide of the post.

Stoke finally started closing down the Boro midfield and then started playing some nice flowing football. Ciaran Daniels really should have made it 1-1 after being put clean through, but his shot was well saved by the 'keeper.

Shortly after Daniels then squared for Jackson Cudd, but he could only connect with the air and the ball ran harmlessly out of play.

Stoke continued to push forward but were vulnerable to the counter and as Boro's winger raced into the box, a last-ditch tackle from captain James Shepherd kept the score at 1-0.

With half time coming, Stoke finally got the equaliser when a long throw was flicked on by Luke Webber.

Curtis Yeo then laid Webber off 12 yards out and his smart finish made it 1-1, which was how the scoreline stayed at until the break.

The second half started and it became a physical battle between the two midfields, with a lot of heavy challenges going in.

Stoke pushed for the goal to give them the lead and after subdtitute Ian Walsha broke clear ,with his first shot hitting the 'keeper, the rebound came back to him and this time he made no mistake for 2-1.

Walsha then had a snap shot saved in spectacular stayed by the Boro 'keeper. Still vulnerable to the quick counter, Stoke had to stay alert to any danger, which the back four of Worthington, Shepherd, Clayton and Sharam did well.

As Boro became more frustrated their challenges got worse, with Webber taking a bchallenge from behind.

Stoke, looking for a third, then got it to make the game safe, Jackson Cudd running on to a long ball and on the volley firing home from 20 yards out.

Stoke held their own for the last 10 minutes to seal their first win of the season. Stoke's man-of-the-match went to Ciaran Daniels. This week Stoke face Moretonhampstead at home.
