KINGSBRIDGE RFC’s High House ground was host to the first of three planned social pitch up and play events on Wednesday, organised with Devon RFU.

Two teams of players from Kingsbridge RFC, Dartmouth RFC and Plymouth Argaum RFC who are either very old, new to rugby or returning to rugby after a break, played a thoroughly entertaining game at Kingsbridge RFC on Wednesday, November 16, under the floodlights.

All the skills of rugby were on show – evasive running, deft passing, solid tackling, rucking, mauling, tactical kicking; and the referee, Devon community coach Mike Lewis, was made to work hard to keep up with the relentless pace the game was played at. Lots of outstanding tries were scored and one team scored a few more than the other team.

If you want to return to playing rugby after a break or give rugby a go for the first time please get in touch with any of the following: Steve Ackers ([email protected]) Dartmouth RFC; Rob Masters ([email protected]) Kingsbridge RFC; or Stuart Quarterman ([email protected]) Plymouth Argaum RFC.

The social sessions are aimed at players who do not play regular league rugby and just want to turn up and play, no matter what their ability.
