Dartmouth Golf Club Graham White had to have a meeting with his partners to decide whether Steve Owen taking his trolley into the bunker was a penalty or not? writes John Garner Anyway, after great deliberation, they decided it did not and they just fined him a pint. Rob Isaacs Berry organised Wednesday's circus and was first in to sort the cards out as the players came in. With all but one group to go, the cards were nearly complete when Barry O'Shea came in, handed his card in, and, thinking he'd be helpful, picked up all the cards to sort them out, obviously much to the dismay of Rob. To ease his pain Rob took the front nine with an outstanding 26 points, Bob Cottom  shared the back nine with Colin Bell on 22 points and Colin shared the overall win with Rob Berry with 43. There were five twos, by Chalkie White, Bob Cottom, Ian Metchette, Paul Dunkley and Colin Bell. The club championship was cancelled due to the weather and a circus was organised instead. Dave Nicholls won the front nine with 22 points, while club captain Ian Metchette excelled himself again by winning the back nine with an excellent 24 and won the competition outright with a cracking round of golf, scoring 42 points.  On Sunday Geoff Penhale and Alan Goldthorpe, last year's finalists, came up against Lee and Paul Humphries in the semi-final of the Bridgetown Trophy. The front nine was very tight, with Paul scoring three net birdies to take a two-up lead into the back nine holes. After 13 holes Paul and Lee were four up with five to go, however Geoff won the 14th  Alan won the 15th, then Geoff birdied the 16th, followed by Paul Humphries halving the 17th for a narrow two and one victory.
