Dartmouth ladies had a very close match in the Devon two-rink Interclub competition against Ivybridge, unfortunately just being edged out by 10 shots 42-32.

Rink one of S Joy, V Ruddle, P Lamble and skip J Townsend were behind for most of the match, but claimed five shots on the last three ends to force a 19 all draw.

Rink two of M Burden, D Durston, E French and skip G Bowden got off to a slow start, dropping five shots on the first two ends, made a small comeback in the middle of the match but dropped a net six shots on the last five ends to finally lose 23-13.

Dart/Stoke ladies knew they would be in for a tough match in the South Devon League when they travelled to Babbacombe B and so it proved, with the team going down to a 65-35 defeat.

Rink one of A Sherlock, E French and skip J Townsend had their noses in front for a lot of this tight game, but clinched a win on the last two ends courtesy of gaining four shots to win 15-11.

Rink two with M Burden, V Ruddle and skip G Bowden struggled throughout this encounter, having dropped eight shots on the first three ends. They eventually lost 27-12.

Rink three of P Rowe, P Dease and skip P Lamble were in close touch after eight ends, but the match turned on end nine, when they dropped five shots, then not being able to register a shot for 10 consecutive ends and going down to a 27-8 defeat.

It was a different story for the Dartmouth men in the South Hams Triples League, playing at home to Yealmpton.

They managed to avenge an early season defeat by achieving a convincing win 58-22.

Rink one of T Taylor, P Caddy and skip B Brehout were level after six ends before turning on the afterburners to record a resounding 37-13 win.

Rink two of J Bow­den, J Hawkins and skip R Swinden kept it tight up to the tea interval before pulling away in style, only dropping two shots on the last eight ends to win 21-9.

Darts men were eager to avenge an earlier season defeat in a Mid Devon League match when they entertained Babbacombe B. They were successful in their quest, winning 95-66 and earning 13 valuable points.

Rink one of A Hawkins, B Brehout, R Swinden and skip M Hawkins got off to a flyer, having achieved a 19-4 lead by the tea interval. A small fight back came from the visitors but Darts held firm to win 26-11.

Rink two of S Ivey, T Deighton, P Hannaford and skip P Caddy also got ahead early, by nine shots, but were caught by end 17 to trail by one shot. Darts then put their foot down to take a net 11 shots over the last four ends to clinch a 28-18 win.

Rink three with M Durston, H Crossman, M Greenland and skip W Varnam again took the early advantage, but five consecutive shots from the visitors narrowed the gap to two shots by end 17, before Darts held firm to win 19-15.

Rink four of J Bow­den, T Taylor, S Shaw and skip D Sherlock had a real topsy turvy affair, going 11-2 behind after only five ends.

A six-shot advantage on end six turned their fortunes, but it took another 11 ends for Darts to draw level and then ease ahead by three shots, only for the visitors to take three shots on the last end to force a 22-22 draw.
