A PARISH council has threatened to give a football club a red card unless it pays its water and electricity bill.
Stoke Fleming Parish Council has told the village football club it must pay up or the team will not be allowed to continue using the recreation field for home games.
According to the parish council, Stoke Fleming FC owes £340.15 for electricity and water used at the changing rooms on the field.
Council chairman Mary Newman said she had written a warning letter to the chairman of the football club, telling him the club will be banned from using the field if the debt is not cleared by March 1.
The Chronicle tried to contact the club but had been unsuccessful by the time we went to press.
Stoke Fleming FC plays in Divison One of the South Devon Football League.
