Three members of Dartmouth Amateur Athletics Club were part of 34,631 runners who set off from Greenwich, taking part in the 33rd Virgin London Marathon on Sunday.
Lucy Wallace, Kari-Ann Webb and Marie Jones all completed the race, with Kari saying: 'It was surprisingly hot after training the past 16 weeks in the cold. It was a fantastic day and the crowd support was amazing.'
This year's event saw record crowds of more than 700,000 people line the streets of London, and by 7pm, 34,261 runners had crossed the finish line in The Mall.
23 Guinness World Records were set on the day, including Eduard Egelie clocking 2:52:09 dressed as a Roman soldier.
While all competitors agree that it is the taking part in such an event that counts, for the record Lucy crossed the line in a positively palindromic 5:05:05, Kari-Ann finished in 4:51:25 and Marie came home fastest, notching up 4:30:44.
