Kingswear's Bill Lucas has been named as part of the GB rowing team for the third and final World Rowing Cup of the year in Lucerne.

The regatta, which begins today, will provide the squad with one of their final chances to test themselves against world-class opposition ahead of next month's World Championships in South Korea.

Lucas will once again compete in the double scull alongside Matt Langridge after the pair picked up a bronze medal in the last World Cup event at Eton Dorney last month and reached the final of Henley Royal Regatta last weekend.

Lucas and Matt Langridge showed the progress they have made since coming together for the Eton Dorney World Cup just two weeks ago when they handed a heavy defeat to the Chambers brothers at Henley Royal Regatta.

Unfortunately, in the final of the event, Kiwis Mike Arms and Rob Manson, the exciting, new open weight men's double for New Zealand, dominated the GB duo, setting a course record by two seconds.

Bill raced in the quadruple scull at the first World Cup of the season in Sydney, where he won gold.
