Harbertonford reserves 1,
Dittisham United 1
On Saturday the Plums travelled away to play Harbertonford, looking to continue their good start to the season.
From the kick-off Dittisham were straight away at home on the larger pitch.
Ditts stroked the ball around fantastically and their movement in the first 25 minutes was simply too much for Fords to deal with.
With the flowing football they were playing, it didn't take long to carve out out their first chance when forward Bruckner broke down the flank.
He found Fisher in the box, who was just unable to get his effort on target.
A few moments later Ditts were at it again after a great passing move that saw the whole team touch the ball at least once.
Jake Blamey whipped a deceptive, deep, curling cross into the box that was met by Tommy Rowdon, only for his headed effort to rebound off the post.
Ditts were at times insatiable with consistent pressure on the Fords goal and could and should have been four nil up within 20 minutes through close efforts from Copeman, Rowdon, Fisher, and Bruckner.
After 25 minutes Fords started to grow into the game, managing to retain some of the possession and gain a foothold.
Ditts lost their way a little and were made to pay five minutes from half time when a deflected 20-yard effort beat 'keeper Darch.
Ditts started the second half well and straight away could have been back in the game when Joe Blamey whipped in a delightful ball for Copeman, who put his effort just over the bar.
It was Soper that finally got Dittisham back into the game when, after a mazy run, Fisher was clumsily brought down in the area, leaving the referee little option but to point to the spot.
Soper confidently stepped up and dispatched his penalty into the bottom left corner.
Ditts continued to plug away but were unable to break the resilient Fords defence.
Dittisham will be looking to get back to winning ways tomorrow when they face Bovey Tracey at home in a 2.30pm kick-off.
