On Friday, July 12, the ladies of Dart/
Stoke played in the ladies' Gallery League 4-3-2-1 trophy at home against Kingsbridge Park ladies, which ended in a win for for the home team.
In the singles match, J Townsend lost 13-18, A Sherlock and P Lamble won 25-10, S Joy, E French and G Bowden won the triples 19-16 and the rink of P Rowe, P Dease, M Weedon and C Wotton won 22-15.
The match score ended with a win for Dart/Stoke by the margin of 79-59, and they go forward to the next round.
On Tuesday, July 16, it was another match for the ladies in the Gallery League, played at home but at the Stoke Fleming club against Paignton B.
The triples of S Keep, P Lamble and skip J Townsend were never behind in their match and were 16-12 up after 15 ends.
They scored a further four shots to Paignton's one over the last three ends to secure the win by 20 shots to 13.
The triple of J Varnam, S Joy and skip G Bowden had a much closer game, but were never headed when they went 10-8 up after 10 ends and 14-12 at 15 ends.
Both teams scored two shots apiece over the last three ends to give Dart/Stoke a narrow winning score of 16-14.
The triple of R Paynter, P Dease and skip C Wotton had a bit of an up and down game, 7-5 up at five ends and 10-8 up after 10.
However, they then only managed to score four shots to Paignton's 11 over the second half of the match to lose by 14 shots to 19.
Having won two out of the three matches, this gave Dart/Stoke a winning shot difference of 50 against Paignton B's 45 and an eight points to two points win.
On Saturday, July 13, the men's section played a match at home in the MDL against Dawlish Marina, who are having a good run of late in the league.
On rink one the team of R Crew, Tony Hawkens, John Townsend and skip Peter Hannaford never got their noses in front and found themselves 8-26 down at 15 ends.
Things never got any better over the last six ends as they dropped 10 more shots to lose by 11-36.
On rink two the team of Alex Moysey, R Lambden, Thomas Moysey and skip John Tremlett fared slightly better and were 10-7 up at 10 ends.
After the tea break things went downhill and they only scored five shots to Marina's 18 in the second half to lose by 15-25.
On rink three the team of M Greenland, Chris Smith, David Sherlock with skip B Varnam had a bit of an up and down game, 1-7 down at five ends and 9-7 up at 10 ends.
After the tea break they managed to score 12 shots to Marina's 11 over the second half of the match to keep their noses in front and win by 21-18.
On rink four the team of Roland Swinden, Tim Deighton, Matthew Moysey and skip Peter Caddy were 5-3 up at five ends and moved further ahead, 13-4 up at 10 ends.
They were then cruising to be 23-10 up at 15 ends, but they allowed Marina back in the game over the last six ends, conceding eight shots with no reply, but still won by 23-18.
The final match score was Dartmouth 70 shots to Marina's 97 and a points total of 4-10 to Marina.
