Dartmouth ladies
Perfect, perfect, perfect... golf, weather, competitions... that's just how the ladies of the club feel at the moment.
On Saturday the trophy to be won on the day for the ladies was the Norton Salver. A medal competition played on the Championship course, this was won by Sylvia Shalders with an amazing net 70, reducing her handicap back to 27.
With the weather continuing to be a golfers' haven on Tuesday, the Eclipse Trophy was the competition of the day.
Played over 27 holes 18 on the championship course and nine on the Dartmouth course a strong field of 13 ladies battled for the prestigious lady trophy, with its roots going back to 1999 and first presented by then lady captain Lesley Saffin.
Lesley joined the Dartmouth ladies as an honoured guest for the day. The field was very close, but Jan Cousins won the trophy marginally with a staggering 56 points, with Barbara Parkin bogeying the ninth on the Dartmouth Course and missing the chance of victory from Jan... There's always next year Barbara.
The ladies division of DGCC are looking for new players. If you fancy trying your hand at a new hobby in golfing, please do not hesitate to contact any member of staff or golf club member. We would all be very happy to accommodate you.
