Dartmouth seniors
On Monday, July 29, it was a four ball better ball, playing off three-quarters handicap, for the members of Dartmouth Golf and Coutry Club seniors' section.
The weather was mostly fine but with showers at times, but the rain that had fallen in the past few days had softened the course and greens up somewhat.
The winners this week were the pairing of George Dinsdale and David Rowsell with a good 40pts, closely followed by Bob Benns and Bernard Young with 39pts.
No member managed to score a two this week.
On Monday, August 5, only 28 members played an individual stableford. The weather was kind to some but others caught the showers.
The course was in good nick, and everything had greened up due to the nice drop of rain we have had, but nothing seemed to faze John Cousins this week as he took the winner's spot with a good 40pts.
Second place went to Colin Bell with 37pts and third place to Jim Bentham with 35pts, while 34pts gave Bernard Young fourth spot.
There were three members sharing the twos money this week and they were John Cousins, Paul Stubbs and Colin Bell.
Dartmouth juniors
the juniors travelled to Tavistock on Friday for their last West Devon Junior Golf League match; this fixture is always a close match and it was no different on Friday, with Tavistock just edging the result.
On Saturday and Sunday, in the Dartmouth Men's Club Championship, the junior in form this year, Joe Turner, came in third. Solly Metchette took seventh with Joe Nicholls finishing in the top 20.
Joe Turner's third position led to him being named the Dartmouth Golf and Country Club junior champion for 2013.
