DARTMOUTH'S Henry Bomby finished Leg 2 of La Solitaire du Figaro on Monday afternoon in Gijon, Spain.

He had just completed a great last 24 hours, managing to climb 13 places to finish in 20th, his best ever result in a Solitaire leg.

Looking ahead to Leg 3, which was due to get underway yesterday afternoon, he said: 'For leg 3 we will be crossing the Bay of Biscay.

'The weather again looks light, with some zones of transition to cross which brings opportunities to get some times on others – and also not lose – so you need to be careful. I am very motivated to go out there and have a good one.

'I want to show what I can do. I have a lot of frustrations at the moment and I just need to focus that energy into the next leg in the right way to make sure I am happy come the finish.

'It is my goal to be in the top 20, that would be fantastic. It's all to play for.'
