Conditions were good for the midweek medal, but with no run on the ball due to the wet fairways, the course was playing long.

This was not a problem to 17-year-old Harry Lord, though, who has reached single figures a year before his father Mark did. He played consistently well all the way round to score net 73, taking his handicap down to 8.7.

Second with a gross 97, net 76 was Martin Howlett. Third was Colin Bell 77, fourth on countback was Mark Lord 77 and fifth Kevin Eighteen with 82.

Always good fun to play, the Saturday circus was held at the weekend. Bob Wotton played well on the front nine, scoring 20 points, and was doing well on the back until he failed to get over the lake on the last.

David Brooking was the man of the moment though, scoring 21 on the front, 17 on the back, and 38 overall.

He won all three categories and went home a very happy chappy.

On Sunday the Rogers Gold Cup and the Hitchens Salver was played. This time it was the turn of Jack Kirby to shine, he played brilliant golf to score 34 points off the golds and is well on the way to returning to single figures. Second came the young gun that is Harry Lord 31, third Mark Lord 25, fourth Martin Howlett 25 and fifth Gordan Kidd 23.
