With the 169th Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta taking over the town, the keenly contested local rowing programme began this week.

Although the finals of many of the rowing events will take place later in the week, there have been some prizes handed out, and champions named, already.

The long distance whaler races, both men's and women's, have already seen the finals completed, with the Steam Packet Inn claiming victory for the ladies and the Dolphin pub picking up the prize for the men.

There will be more regatta results in next weeks' paper.
