STOKE Gabriel & Torbay Police shared the points in their latest SW Peninsula League outing.
The Bees visited Ilfracombe Town, a new arrival to the division, and the sides couldn’t be separated after 90 minutes of football.
At Marlborough Park, the first half passed by with little to no incident, neither team able to break the deadlock.
On the hour mark, Jake Chesworth struck Ilfracombe ahead from 12 yards out, just seven days after Stoke beat Okehampton Argyle courtesy of two penalty kicks of their own.
Matt Hayden and Sam Biscoe’s squad never seem to know when they’re beaten though, always playing right until the final whistle and it paid dividends against the Bluebirds.
Sean Adderley, an experienced and versatile individual, provided a late equaliser for Stoke to deny Ilfracombe the win on their own patch.
He was named as the club’s man of the match as well, they wrote this on social media about his performance: “From start to finish, Adders showed everything we pride ourselves on! Defended incredibly and lead by example. He never stopped working and believing that we could get something from the game.”
They added, “It was that belief and determination from him that saw us come home with a point. A great Kieran Parkin corner was flicked on by Jordan McCarthy to Adders, whose header hit the back of the net.”
Stoke are now sixth at the time of writing, having won four games, drawn two and lost two.
Elsewhere win in their league, Axminster Town shipped seven for a second consecutive week, this time to leaders Bovey Tracey AFC, Bridport FC also netted seven and Newton Abbot Spurs prevailed in a six-goal thriller away at Middlezoy Rovers.
Next up, Hayden and co will welcome Helston Athletic to Broadley Lane for an FA Vase showdown on Saturday 20.
