STOKE Gabriel & Torbay Police couldn’t quite make it three wins from three but their unbeaten start to the new South West Peninsula League campaign continues.

After scoring 10 and conceding one across wins over Cullompton Rangers and Crediton United, the Bees would have been flying high with confidence on their travels.

They had to settle for a point in their first away game of the season though, sharing the spoils with Bridport AFC at St Mary’s Field.

It looked for all the way that they would return home empty-handed in fact, Solomon Ayunga having given the hosts the lead just a couple of minutes into the second half.

Kieran Parkin came up with a late leveller though to rescue Stoke a draw.

Three more away games await Stoke this month, first visiting St. Day in the FA Vase on Saturday 23, then Newton Abbot Spurs (Tuesday 26) and Torridgeside AFC (Saturday 30).
