senior section

It appears that you cannot keep a good man down; well certainly not at Dartmouth Golf Club.

Having won the two end of season competitions and been aptly nicknamed Mr Christmas, Des Graham on Monday of this week, kept his rich vein of form going by also winning the opening competition for 2015.

It was an individual stableford and although the course was very damp from the heavy rains on Sunday, it was still very playable.

Indeed, from the very strong field of some 35 senior members, there was some excellent scoring on the day, but none could match the 40 points scored by Des, who won by three clear points.Second was this year's men's captain, Kevin Eighteen, a new face among the elder statesmen, with 37 points.

He in turn was followed by another newcomer to the ranks, Alistair Forbes, with 36 points.

The final minor placings went to two stalwarts of the senior section, Geoff Jewell and Mike Shalders, with 36 and 35 points respectively.

Next Monday sees the seniors take on a unique competition where players play in teams of two and switch balls after each drive; a format sure to challenge their emotions.
