SDFL division three

Dartmouth AFC reserves 12,

East Allington reserves 0

Dartmouth AFC reserves avenged the two defeats they had suffered at the hands of East Allington reserves this season, most recently a 5-2 defeat at Poole Lane just two days before, with a comprehensive 12-0 victory at Longcross.

With the first team not playing, the reserves brought Charlie Smith, Josh Webber and Freddie Smith into the side, and it was Webber who got the first goal of the afternoon when he collected defender Chris Collet's brilliant pass before smashing through the legs of the 'keeper.

Five minutes later the hosts doubled their lead when Simon Holmes poked home from close range before grabbing his second goal and Dartmouth's third three minutes later after clever play from winger Will Kenny.

Dartmouth were playing some brilliant football and extended their lead when Kenny tapped in from a Holmes corner, before the latter completed his half-hour hat-trick after some clever one-touch football.

The goal of the game arrived after 35 minutes; Webber's quick feet created some room on the edge of the box, and he let fly with an unstoppable left-footed drive into the top corner.

The hosts deservedly went into the break seven goals to the good after bulldozer Ben Greeno played the ball back perfectly for Freddie Smith to strike in from the 18-yard box.

Managers Terry Chalk and Paul Morrallee were delighted with their teams performance, and they scored a further five second-half goals to record their biggest win of the season.

Ed Armitage's never-ending running allowed Webber the room to smash in for his hat-trick, and immediately after Greeno's tricky run gave Armitage the easiest of tasks to slot in for Dartmouth's ninth of the afternoon.

Solley Metchette, Rhys Morrallee and Ross Little were introduced on the hour mark, and it was Metchette's persistence that led to Armitage collecting the ball and curling his effort into the net for goal number 10.

Charlie Smith nearly got on the scoresheet when his volley deflected agonisingly over, but the Longcross faithful didn't have to wait much longer for the next goal.

Morrallee found space out wide before laying the ball back nicely to Little, and at the second attempt he poked home from close range for his third of the season.

Webber rounded off the scoring with a delicate chip to seal a big three points for the reserves as they look to finish as high as possible in division three.

They play away at Bishopsteignton United tomorrow in the league after facing Upton Athletic reserves on Thursday, while the firsts return to action, hosting Watcombe Wanderers at Longcross. Both games kick off at 2.30pm.
