Petroc 1 league
Newton Abbot 3,
A much-improved performance from Dartmouth, especially in the second half where they conceded no goals, is certainly something to build on, according to the coaching team.
Dartmouth's defence certainly had their work cut out with player of the match Chloe Edwards in the thick of everything, but some goals were unstoppable.
More of a concern is the lack of strength in attack and how often they come to nothing.
That being said, player availability has meant a different line-up every match so far and match consistency has not been gained, which was laways likely to cause problems for a newly promoted side.
The work rate is there, though, and typified by the likes of Bonny Chivers, who played out of position well, especially in the second half.
'I think it is taking us a while to adjust to the pace and strength of this league', commented coach Edwards.
'We are still playing Petroc 2 hockey in Petroc 1 and it does not work'.
A rest this week from league action will probably do the team a world of good before a home fixture to Sidmouth and Ottery on November 3.
