Dawlish 0,

Dartmouth were lucky that this game went ahead, with Jo Rendle kindly stepping in to umpire instead of playing as Dawlish were one umpire short.

Once the game got started it was all Dartmouth and the ladies looked as if they were going to enjoy the afternoon with their relaxed attitude and rediscovered confidence.

Sarah Barrett got things under way with the first goal of the afternoon. Mandy Servan, taking a short corner, passed the ball to Sarah and she smashed it past the Dawlish ‘keeper and opposition defence with just eight minutes gone.

Dartmouth had to wait another eight minutes for their second and it was worth waiting for.

Hannah Pillar, stealing the ball from a Dawlish player in her own half, dribbled her way past three opposition players before gliding the ball through to Lucy Pillar inside the opposition’s D, allowing Lucy to find the back of the net to make it 2-0 and leave Dartmouth cruising to another easy victory.

With Dartmouth in total control, they were in no mood to give anything away.

Dawlish had to resort to smashing the ball down field just to regroup, but Dartmouth were having none of it.

As soon as the ball reached Chelsea Rendle, Hannah Pillar, Becca Squires, Julie Pillar and Lauren Rogers they picked a Dartmouth player and play soon returned to the Dawlish 25.

The next goal unsurprisingly went to Darts through Lisa Hunt. Lisa received the ball from Jamie Rendle and notched her third for the 2015/2016 campaign with a well-taken shot for 3-0, which remained the score at half-time.

Dartmouth came out of the blocks a bit slower, not surprising after the pace of the first half, but once again it was all them, Dawlish bringing every man and his dog back in defence. It took Darts 23 minutes and eight short corners to break the stubborn Dawlish defence.

Mandy Servan again turned provider, this time taking a short corner to Jamie Rendle, who powered her way through to get goal number four.

With the game won it was time to bring off Lisa Hunt and bring on Freya Bradley for a spell on the right wing.

Try as they might, Dartmouth couldn’t improve on their four goals but were very happy with their effort. Hannah Pillar received player of the match for her gutsy determined defending and attacking.

Dean Martyn was Dartmouth’s sponsor.

Dartmouth are back at Dawlish again this Saturday, this time against Teign.

Dartmouth will want to keep this winning momentum and hopefully get another win at Dawlish.

Most of all Dartmouth will be looking for another team effort, something they have got to grips with in the last two games.
