On Thursday, July 26, it was the turn of Kings B from Torquay to visit Dartmouth in the return match in division two of the Mid Devon League.

This was always going to be a tough match for Dartmouth and so it proved.

On rink one the team of T Moysey, M Gregory, H Crossman and skip P Hannaford, started a little jittery, being 4-5 down after five ends, but then the tide turned and they scored 15 shots to Kings' four to be 19-9 up at 15 ends.

However, the match turned the other way after that and Kings scored seven shots to none, leaving it 19-16 after 20 ends to Dartmouth.

Dartmouth, to their credit, didn't panic and scored two shots on the 21st end to win by 21 shots to 16.

On rink two the team of J Bowden, R Lambdon, J Townsend and skip J Tremlett also had a bit of an up and down match.

They were 3-3 after five ends, 8-8 after 10 ends, and then went 12-16 down after 15 ends. They could only score four shots to Kings' six after this, to lose by 16 shots to 22.

On rink three the team of M Moysey, S Ivey, R Swinden and skip P Caddy probably had the hardest job of the game, playing against a Kings rink skipped by England international Griff Sanders.

Dartmouth put up a good fight to be 10-5 up after 10 ends, but then they only scored two shots to Kings' eight to find themselves 12-13 down after 15 ends.

They could only score three shots to Kings' four over the last six ends to be pipped by 15 shots to 17.

On rink four the team of M Durston, M Greenland, D Sherlock and skip W Varnam had a steady game all through their match, being 5-4 up after five ends, 12-7 up at 10 ends and 18-9 up after 15 ends.

They then scored six shots to Kings' five over the last six ends to run out winners by 24 shots to 14.

This gave Dartmouth a shot difference of 76 shots to 69 and a points difference of 10-4.
