Dartmouth put in a gutsy performance against a very experienced and determined Torbay, which at times got quite heated as both umpires worked to keep cool heads.

The Torbay skill level seemed to trouble Dartmouth and left a defence making too many mistakes. Torbay took an early lead and Dartmouth soaked up further pressure and then countered with the odd breakout.

Sam Webb put in a great winger's performance, breaking tackles to release player-of-the-match Hannah Pillar, who equalised with a scorcher as she entered the D to leave it all even at half-time.

The introduction of Alix Vincent on the left wing brought Dartmouth a more balanced attack, which paid off quickly when she combined with Lucy Pillar to cross for Sam Webb, who scored from close range.

For a period, Dartmouth had the upper hand and looked comfortable, but losing and giving away possession cheaply would cost them dearly as Torbay seized on plenty of chances to not only equalise but take the lead.

The game then became one-way traffic as the Dartmouth defence did their best to stem the attacks, without success.

This very tough match left tired and bruised bodies all round, but indicates what is required to play at this standard.
