On Sunday, October 23, Dartmouth Amateur Athletic Club members ran two very different races.
Ali McGrigor and John Hart ran with nearly 16,000 others in the Great South Run.
The fast and flat course of the world’s leading 10-mile running event takes you through the sights of Southsea and Portsmouth, including the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, home of HMS Victory, past Spinnaker Tower, to finish on the seafront with beautiful views of the Isle of Wight.
Ali finished in 1.42.48 and John in 1.18.18.
Both were happy to have a tailwind on the last two miles to the finish.
Meanwhile Andrew Jarrold and Artur Szyperek took on the Exmoor Stagger, a trail race of 16 miles and 3,600ft of climbing to the top of Dunkery Beacon, Exmoor’s highest point.
Andrew finished in 2.31.54 and Artur in 2.39.57.
