Juniors at Dartmouth Golf and Country Club have accumulated a host of plaudits and accolades over the summer, and even more future stars will now benefit from the club's expert tuition thanks to new discounts for youngsters.
Lorna Elliott, 16, has been one of the academy's stars, collecting 10 trophies throughout the season and finishing eighth in the English Women's Golf Association's Grand Medal Final in Worcestershire, despite being the youngest competitor.
Junior captain Harry Lord, also 16, has been in equally good form, winning silverware in three senior competitions.
Dartmouth Golf and Country Club juniors have been in fine form over the weekend.
In the men's monthly Stableford, played over the championship course, three juniors filled the first four positions, with Stuart Harris winning with a stableford score of 46 points.
This resulted in a handicap reduction down from 21 to 18.
In third place was last year's junior captain with 42 points, resulting in a handicap reduction down to 10, and in fourtn position was Joe Turner with 38 points – Joe is now down to 22.5.
A special mention for Joe Nicholls, playing in his first senior competition after achieving his Congu handicap, coming in with 33 points.
Harry Lord became junior club scratch champion after the final round of the club championship at the end of August.
While the above juniors were on the championship course, the Dartmouth course was holding the Tozer Under-13 Trophy, being played after a lapse of two years over nine holes.
The winner was Jack Durrant, adding this trophy to the Barratt Trophy Jack won earlier in the year. In second place was Alfie Berrow and third Charlie Moon.
The success follows on from Dartmouth Golf and Country Club's award of the prestigious GolfMark status by the English Golf Union, since which the number of children undertaking academy coaching has increased.
Now the number of youngsters benefiting from the club's expertise in developing juniors is set to further increase.
Head professional Rob Glazier said: 'When we achieved GolfMark status last year it felt like the culmination of all our hard work in developing our tuition and work with juniors, but it was really just the beginning.
'The success we've had in the last year has been phenomenal and I'm confident we've only just started.
'This is the tip of the iceberg; there must be so many talented youngsters in south Devon and the new programmes we've put together are the perfect platform to help them achieve their full potential.
'I genuinely believe that Devon can produce a future European Tour player and even a Major champion, and it is fantastic to be able to set so many juniors on a road that could take them that far.'
