SDFL division five

Dittisham Utd 10, Malborough Utd 3

MALBOROUGH travelled with a bare side, the squad ravaged by injuries. Play started pretty evenly as both sides tested each other out.

Dittisham got the early break through on 10 minutes after some sloppy defending moved the centre forward to score with ease.

Malborough came straight back, Harry White slipping the ball through to debutant Alex Watts, who cut in from the right before rifling a low drive across goal and into the far corner.

Paul Sharwood and Toby Jones combined well at the heart of the midfield, the latter donating a bit of claret to the cause, having taken one full in the face from close range.

Dittisham then began to take full control, and with half an hour gone found themselves five goals to the good. Kielan Arblaster worked tirelessly up front and got his reward with a brilliant solo effort, dancing past three defenders before unleashing his shot which flew into the back of the net via the inside of the post.

The second half saw Dittisham once again grab an early goal before Malborough were awarded a penalty. Rob Austin's spot kick was well saved. White reacted quickest, only to fire his shot against the 'keeper, the loose ball dropping at the feet of Toby Jones, who made no mistake from close range.

New signing Jack Super showed great promise with a solid display at the heart of the defence. Dittisham went on to score at regular intervals for a much-deserved victory.

All credit to Malborough for not letting their heads drop. The man-of-the-match award was given to Toby Jones.
