Kingswear's Bill Lucas has been named in the GB rowing team for the second world cup of the 2012 season, which will feature stronger competition with crews from Australia, New Zealand and Canada taking part.
Lucas continues in the men's double scull with Sam Townsend for the regatta in Lucerne, Switzerland from May 25-27 while fellow Devonian Marcus Bateman, one of five names fighting for an Olympic seat in the men's quadruple scull, will race in a second men's single.
The double won silver behind Germany at the first world cup in Belgrade and will look to try and match that result against a deeper, stronger field.
The new-look quad this season, with Bateman on board, narrowly missed out on a place in the final in Serbia but won the B final to finish seventh overall.
Britain's leading boats across the genders and weight-categories from Belgrade are all unchanged.
'We are still working on fine-tuning the team as the London Games approaches', said GB rowing team performance director David Tanner.
'The benefit of consistent and significant investment by the National Lottery in our team over the past four years has given us a tremendous strength across the disciplines and gives us several options to consider'. The GB rowing team has already qualified boats in 13 of the 14 boat classes for London 2012 and the Olympic crews will be announced on June 6.
