Dart 1 – Dartmouth 3
Dartmouth came out triumphant in the Battle of the Darts with a well balanced performance and all round good team effort.
A very tight and hard fought match was played at a high tempo which flowed end to end as each side tested each others defences.
Dartmouth were first on the board from a long corner which saw Jody Chater work with Lucy Pillar who delivered a neat cross to find Jamie Rendle racing in and beat the keeper with a calm tap in.
Dartmouth had a full squad available and used a rolling sub process to keep the pressure on.
Dart came out in the second half with much more intent and kept the defence busy and Dartmouth struggling to clear efficiently for a long period.
Player of the match Coral Bradley, playing her last game before heading off down under, was cool under pressure and clearing off the line, but Dart scrambled one in to level.
This immediately spurred Dartmouth on and captain Lucy Pillar carved up the defence with a fine solo run to finish off in style.
Dartmouth made the game safe when a run from Siobhan Edwards was finished with a strong hit into the D which took a deflection and went in. Team confidence is good following back to back wins, but the visit of second placed Torbay will be a real test of how much improvement has been made.
