Andrew Bartlett, of Kibworth Beauchamp, Leicestershire, writes:
I am writing an article for the magazine Classic Bus which is looking at some of the smaller bus routes that Western National operated in the South Hams.
I would really like to include stories from people who actually travelled on the routes in question at any time during the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, or maybe even drove or conducted the buses, as I know this will give the story a much more interesting, human angle. They are:
l 99 Kingsbridge to South Pool.
l 100 Kingsbridge to Inner Hope.
l 101 Kingsbridge to Bigbury.
l Kingsbridge to Loddiswell.
l 104 Kingsbridge to Thurlestone.
l 109, 110 or 110A Kingsbridge to Beesands
l 110 Kingsbridge to East Portlemouth.
l 144 Dartmouth to Dittisham.
As well as their memories, if anyone still has any old timetables of the period, or photographs that include buses in those villages that they would be prepared to let me see – for which a small fee would be paid – that really would be the icing on the cake!
