I should like to say how sickened and disappointed I am to hear that Sainsbury's has rejected having the Foodbank 'bin' in their store for their customers, who are of course buying extra items from the store, to deposit into the bin.

Since the store opened I have enjoyed shopping there but sadly I have boycotted the store since I heard of their refusal to support the Foodbank, at a time when so many people in Dartmouth are affected by the country's austerity measures.

I understand that in fact, none of the stores in Dartmouth have responded to requests from the Foodbank.

It's not as if they are being asked to donate – but just to be a venue for receiving food in a bin – extra food bought in their store.

Do they have any idea what it's like to be struggling? I am incensed!
