Ever wondered what a Citizens Advice cupcake tastes like?

If this is something you are curious about then pop along to the Dartmouth kiosk on Wednesday, June 20.

The cupcake was designed and made by one of the charity’s volunteers, Rosemarie Jacobs who bakes for charity fund raising events after she worked in catering management for many years.

The idea for the cupcake which is blueberry and lemon flavoured with a lemon frosting top, came about after discussions for Citizens Advice’s 80th anniversary plans for 2019.

The charity which usually focusses on advising local residents on bigger problems thought it needed a signature cake.

Janie Moor, CEO of Citizens Advice South Hams said: “Some of the advice problems we deal with are difficult and distressing so thoughts of cake are always welcome.

“If the new Citizens Advice cupcake takes off it may figure in our celebrations next year.

“We’re thinking of asking the public to hold coffee mornings and afternoon tea events to help us raise money, similar to Macmillan Cancer. If anyone is interested in helping us raise funds we’d love to hear from them.

“Contact us on [email protected] . A lot of people don’t realise that we’re a local independent charity reliant on local funding, so we need the help and backing of the local community”

Any Dartmouth resident needing advice services from Citizens Advice can come into the Dartmouth clinic on Tuesday mornings between 9.30am – 12.30pm when Citizens Advice staff and volunteers are there to help or visit southhamscab.org.uk or ring the advice line on 03 444 111 444.
