Kevin Pyne, of Lake Street, Dartmouth, writes: If needs be, can't we have a whip around for a new flagpole in the Royal Avenue gardens as it seems, sadly, district are reluctant to spend any money in town We have always had flags on poles and it seems a shame to lose them. Mind you, they have now cut off the tabernacle with embarrassing haste which was good for many more years The paved area of gardens are beginning to get dirty and shabby from the constant streams of tyres on vehicles that drive in and out of the area when it is used as a market. Personally, I thought that if it could not be pushed in or carried in then it shouldn't really be allowed to happen. Sure, it's only a flag pole, but it was our town flagpole in our collective seating area .
