ANNETE ROSSER, of Crowthers Hill, Dartmouth, writes: On Fridays and Tuesdays, for as long as I can remember, there has been a market in Dartmouth, well advertised with a signpost at the corner of the Boatfloat to point the way. Now, the Old Market, revamped at huge expense, only has Friday markets throughout the year, with Tuesdays and other days, not widely advertised, coming into action in late spring. So the point of my letter is to suggest that charities could provide an added attraction on Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays when there is nothing to draw visitors away from the river and into the centre of the town. A little music in the bandstand at weekends would be nice. Perhaps we can still prevent Dartmouth from becoming like 'poor old Salcombe'.
