A SECOND World War RAF veteran has died just two weeks after being moved from a Dartmouth nursing home under investigation by police.

Former Master Pilot David Morton was taken from the River View Care Centre shortly after midnight and moved to the cottage hospital at Ashburton, said his artist daughter Theresa Hart.

It was another day before she was told her father was among the five residents under care at the Dartmouth nursing home who had been moved out in the wake of the police investigation.

She then had to telephone around a number of hospitals herself to discover which one he had been sent to.

Because of the move, Mrs Hart, who lives with her husband Simon in Fairview Road, Dartmouth, believes she missed out on being with her father when he died a fortnight later.
