Fred Carslake, of Coopers Drive, Bristol, writes:

I am writing in the hope that readers can help me find some long-lost photographs.

Between 1948 and 1952 my father, Alfred Carslake, ran what was then the Royal Oak public house. It was situated facing down the Lower Ferry slipway in Dartmouth.

I am in the process of writing a family history book and would love a photograph of the old pub to go in it. I know it is a lot to expect, but it is surprising what can be turned up from readers of local newspapers.

Should anyone be able to help with my search, my full address is 29 Coopers Drive, Brimsham Park, Yate, Bristol BS37 7XZ; call 01454 317112; email [email protected].
