Residents and their wheelbarrows helped a village shop move home.
Blackawton Village Shop has moved from its old portacabin site into a brand new location next to the George Inn pub.
The refurbishment of Old Oakleigh cottage was generously funded by Devon County Council, South Hams District Council and the Big Lottery Fund.
Almost double the size of the original site, the new village shop will provide a much wider range of stock alongside the post office.
All staffed by volunteers and a manager, it provides a local amenity which is greatly appreciated in the village.
The grand opening is on Saturday, September 15, at 11am with free tastings of new products available.
Last Sunday, villagers arrived at the portacabin community shop with wheelbarrows ready to move the stock to the brand new shop.
The heavier items including the fridges and freezers were moved by a low loader and heaved into the shop. Restocking the shop then took a further two days.
