South Hams Council has this morning issued the following important information about travel and parking for the 2016 Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta.

Park and Ride Dartmouth

The cost to park at Park & Ride during the Regatta period (Wednesday 24 - Saturday 27 inc) will be £10 per vehicle including unlimited bus travel all day and parking for up to seven people.

The Park and Ride operates approximately three-quarters of a mile from the town centre on the A3122 Dartmouth to Totnes Road and will be open on the following times:

• Saturday 20-Tuesday 23 August 8am-7pm

• Wednesday 24 August 8am-10pm

• Thursday 25 & Friday 26 August 8am-11pm

• Saturday 27 August 8am-midnight

• The service will be increased during Regatta with the following vehicles to run continuously:

• From Wednesday to Thursday - four double-decker buses

• From Friday to Saturday - six double-decker and one single-decker bus

• From Tuesday 23 August until Saturday 27 August inclusive, the Park & Ride Bus service termination point for both picking up and setting down will be outside the Ship in Dock Inn.

Mayors Avenue

Will be closed on Saturday 20 August at 6pm reopening Sunday 28 August at noon. This car park will be used by the fair.

Permits holders will therefore not be permitted to park within this car park during this time and must use the Park & Ride Service.

Reserved Permit Holders will remain in their current bays and there is no requirement to move.

Coronation Park

This site is being fully controlled by the Regatta Committee and no parking will be permitted.

Venn Lane Overflow Fields

The overflow fields are being run by the Dartmouth Regatta Committee. Buses from the main park & ride will service this site. Permit holders will be able to use the Venn Lane overflow fields in the reserved area.

Kingswear Park and Ride

Brixham Lions will be running the Park and Ride at Hillhead, Kingswear again this year for local charities on 25, 26 and 27 August.

• The opening times are 10am- midnight.

• Last bus from Kingswear will be 11.30pm.

• For Sat Nav users the postcode is TQ5 0HH

town centre parking

There is no town centre parking available and a number of roads both in Kingswear and Dartmouth will be signed as ’Clearways’, which means no parking at anytime. A limited number of parking spaces will be available at Coronation Park for disabled badge holders. Any issues regarding on street parking needs to be directed to Devon County Council - 0845 1551004.

Stagecoach

Stagecoach South West will be offering special services to and from the Dartmouth Regatta. Additional services will be running on Torbay routes 18, 20 and 120 and visitors can also use the Dartmouth Park and Ride.
