Kevin Pyne, of Lake Street Dartmouth, writes: Just after 6am on Easter Sunday I was woken up, as I was on the Saturday, by the pre-recorded sound of some kind of loud amplified wild animal distress signal, which I can only presume is supposed to frighten off the returned and by now coupled and copulating hordes of seagulls. Is it three years or four now since the gardens of South Ford Road and the rear of Lake Street first had to put up with this alien, electrified microphone menace all summer long. It does not work and when it does in part, it only makes the gulls lift off and cry in their hundreds during which time the birds leave defensive droppings on anything and everything. So, please, if anyone can shed a light on who is thoughtlessly and selfishly using this irritating annoying intrusion of cheep tannoy sound could they let me know, so as I may take it up with the public health people and put a stop to its intrusion on my peace and my sleep? The noise of the gulls is bad enough but at least it is natural and I suppose therefore legal, so come on now who ever you are and think of those others who are being disturbed by your thoughtlessness.
