‘Time to Question Brexit’ comes to Totnes, with a panel of pro-EU figures taking questions from the audience.
Prominent Pro EU figures, including Sir Graham Watson, previously the leader of the Liberal and Reform Group in the European Parliament and the current Conservative MEP for the SW and Gibraltar, Julie Girling, are coming to what the organisers call a “Time to Question Brexit” event in the Civic Hall, Totnes on Friday, February 23, at 7.15pm, doors open from 6.45pm.
Hosted by Tom Brufatto, chair of Britain for Europe, the event will take questions from the floor to be discussed amongst the panel. The members of the panel, who are all knowledgeable on various aspects of Brexit, cover a wide range of experience and background. They include:
Julie Girling, Conservative MEP
Jacqi Hodgson, Green County Councillor for Totnes
Pam Buchan, Labour Party Candidate
Nigel Costley, Secretary TUC SW.
Sir Graham Watson, chair ALDE from 2011-15 Liberal Democrats
The event is hosted by Devon for Europe and the organiser, Peter Sturdgess said: “As it becomes ever more apparent that negotiations between our government and the EU will not result in a favourable deal, now really is the time to question Brexit.
“We are holding this event to give the people of Devon an opportunity to ask questions about Brexit and see the answers discussed by a panel of representatives from all of the major UK political parties and also, importantly, the Unions.”
Tickets are free, with donations on the door, and can be booked on: https://time_to_question_brexit.eventbrite.co.uk/.
