Regatta Rock is back in 2017 with a night of live music, three live acts and a DJ. A spokesman for the organisers said: “We are delighted to announce that King of Pop, Victors and Guns 2 Roses will be performing at this year’s event.

“King of Pop star, Navi, is certainly recognised as the World’s no.1 MJ impersonator. Many tributes around the world make this claim but none have ever come close to reaching the standard that Navi has set. He has been performing as an MJ impersonator for the past 24 years and still continues to captivate audiences.

“Victors are a real crowd-pleaser,. Their bright pop/dance style is a huge hit at festivals making them a must see live act.

“Lastly, and by no means least, Guns 2 Roses, are the only Guns N’ Roses tribute to play live with 4 different members of the Guns N’ Roses band. Playing all the top venues and festivals in the UK, Europe, India and USA, Guns 2 Roses are the longest running and closest looking Guns N’ Roses tribute band in the world.”

The event is on Wednesday, August 23rd and the evening starts with DJ Rich Baker and saxophonist, James Harris. It finishes at 1am and there will still be a river taxi service available.

The Regatta Masquerade Ball opens the Regatta on Tuesday, August 22nd, for a black-tie evening of food, music, dancing and imbibing. The organisers said: “This year’s theme will be Regatta Masquerade Ball. The Masquerade theme runs through the night and we encourage everyone attending to go all out and come along with the most extravagant mask they can find or make. There will be a magnum of champagne given on the night for the most impressive mask.

“There will be cocktails flowing and roulette and black jack tables for all to enjoy at the casino. Dinner is served at 7.45pm and accompanied by the soulful sounds of Caddick and Parkes.

“The dexterous skills of pianist Paul Caddick combined with the vocal talent of singer Nicky Parkes perform a range of songs spanning over 75 years of popular music. After dinner comes the highlight of the night, the one and only, Joey the Lips, who will get everyone up on the dance floor.”

The ball finishes at 12.30pm and there will be a river taxi service available and a return coach tickets to and from Totnes can be bought.
