Hedley Piper, of Weeke Hill, Dartmouth, writes:
The original business plan at the Noss marina site, envisaged boats being out of the water for one week. The size of the hard standing was reduced accordingly.
As any practical person with marine experience will confirm, only the most simple procedures can be accomplished in one week, and are done between tides leaning on a wall, which they do not seem to provide.
As part of their selling point is the establishment of marine related businesses and the creation of jobs, the size of the hard standing should be re assessed by the planning authority.
Perhaps also a reduction in the desirable residense on the quay side. People do not really like the lack of privacy that this tends to engender, nor the noise from the rigging of adjacent boats.
