Janet Hall, of Fairview Road, Dartmouth, writes:

The Dartmouth Orchestra gave a delightful Christmas Concert in the Flavel last week with their new conductor, Tony Hindley, in cheerful but firm control. The auditorium was nearly at full capacity and the audience responded with enthusiasm to the wide variety of compositions, including the ubiquitous 'Jingle Bells'.

For me the highlight of the evening was cello soloist, Jeremy Logie, playing Bruch's 'Kol Nidrei' – a hauntingly beautiful piece.

What a treasure it is to be able to listen to such lovely music, played by our local orchestra, in the comfort of our splendid Flavel.
