We wanted to echo the reviewer’s opinions in the review of the Inn Theatre Company’s fantastic production of The Merry Wives of Windsor, Chronicle, August 14.

Special mention should

go to Anthony Chamberlain, Shaunagh Radcliffe, Gina Carter and Max Brandt, who all gave exemplary performances, but we thought the standard of acting across the whole company was tremendously good.

This was all the more so as we attended on the Wednesday night, when the weather was more suited to another of the Bard’s plays, The Tempest.

It was admirable that the cast stuck at their task and gave such an entertaining performance. We had thought the players may have wanted to decamp to St Petrox, but none if it, and they showed the true meaning of the phrase ‘the show must go on’, especially following Jane Windsor-Smith’s unfortunate accident.

Once again the staging of the play demonstrated why there is no place like Dartmouth, in that the town punches well above its cultural weight with The Flavel at its epicentre.

We already look forward to next year’s performance of Romeo and Juliet. Bravo!
