POLICE were alerted to the sounds of gunshots at West Norton Farm, Dartmouth, on the afternoon of Saturday February 9.

Neighbouring residents had heard the gunshots and called the police at 4.15pm. However it was confirmed that it was just the landowner shooting pigeons on his property.

Local residents are therefore being forewarned that the landowners will be hunting pigeon at the weekends over the next month or so and should not be alarmed if they hear any gunshots in the area.
