Due to the severe weather there may be some disruption to South Hams District Council’s refuse and recycling collections today.
They are asking residents to please leave their refuse or recycling out as usual and they will try to collect it, if it safe to do so.
If they are unable to collect, they will do their best to collect any missed refuse or recycling before the end of the working week, so please leave your collection at the kerbside. However, if they do not manage this they will run an extra collection service on Saturday. At this stage, they do not expect any disruption to collections between Tuesday and Friday.
The council’s website and social media will be updated regularly with local information.
All of the council’s office-based staff have laptops with telephone headsets, which allows them to work from any location, meaning that Staff are able to keep safe and warm at home, while continuing to provide a good level of customer service.
However the council reception is still open for business today, operated by staff who can safely walk to work.
The council would like to thank all residents for their co-operation and patience.
